Scholarship Criteria

Through a University endowment established in 1998 and funded by the Michigan State University Orange County Alumni Club, current students at Michigan State have the opportunity to apply for the Michigan State University Orange County Alumni Club Scholarship. Proceeds from the Annual Golf Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser and individual donations provide a majority of the resources for the endowment.

For the 2005-06 academic year, scholarships of $1,000 to $3,000 will be granted. Half of the total award will be paid for the fall term, and the balance for spring term.

1. Applicants for the scholarship must be residents of Orange County and must be enrolled as full-time, undergraduate students for the fall of 2005.

2. Past scholarship recipients are eligible, but must reapply annually.

3. For 2005, the Scholarship Committee will evaluate applications based on academic performance, test scores, essays and interviews.

4. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive the second semester portion of the award.

5. Financial need is not a requirement.
